This immersion course will give you a thorough overview of Voice Dialogue and the Psychology of Selves as created by Drs. Hal and Sidra Stone. We will have sixteen two-hour meetings on Zoom. Eight classes will include training material as well as sharing dreams and your personal process. In eight other classes, each participant will have one individual facilitation with me and one facilitation done with another member of the class with my supervision. The individual Voice Dialogue session, the exchange of sessions and the supervised session will provide a rich background for the more didactic training. Fee: $1100. The class will be limited to four participants. Dates and times are determined by each group.
Class 1 & 2 - The Evolution from Voice Dialogue to the Aware Ego Process plus the Psychology of Selves as developed by Hal and Sidra Stone AND facilitation training.
In the early 1980s training centered on the technique of Voice Dialogue facilitation. The Stone's established a model of consciousness which contains three components: experience of the selves, the Awareness Level and the Aware Ego.
Use of this modality enhanced an active relationship with the intelligence in dreams. Further experience lead to the method of mapping bonding patterns. Respect for the role of primary selves increased. By 1998 the Aware Ego Process became the focus of training with an emphasis on creating energetic mastery vis-à-vis selves.
Class 3 & 4 - Bonding Patterns
The Psychology of Selves provides a foundation for understanding interactions people have with one another. We map these dynamics as the archetypal relationship between child selves and parental selves that behave automatically when an underlying vulnerability is disowned. As we become aware of positive and negative bonding patterns, we are able to see the parental roles each person takes and the presence of his/her child’s responses. We discover the selves that are primary for each person and those which are disowned. This method brings clarity to relationships and points to fruitful consciousness work for each person.
Class 5 & 6 - Accessing the Deeper Forces of the Unconscious and Energetic Sensitivity Training
As we become more aware of the many facets of our personality, we have the opportunity to make contact with deeper and more profound aspects of our Being. The primary language of the unconscious is symbolic. There is a harvest of truths and uncensored portraits of ourselves that is revealed through dreams, images and visualization. We will learn to unlock their mysteries.
Sensitivity to Energy is fundamental to the practice of Voice Dialogue, the Psychology of the Aware Ego, and to our own internal Aware Ego Process. Our growing sense of the energy patterns of the selves allows us to develop a more conscious relationship the parts that make up who we are and determine how we connect with other people. This ability to experience energies also allows us to track and have insight into the many levels of process when working with others. By resonating with the energetic of a self we are able to more fully induct it. This is essential in facilitating others and training them to distinguish the different selves, the dynamics between selves and the intricate workings of the Aware Ego Process.
Class 7 & 8 - Appropriate applications of Voice Dialogue, course review and supervision
Anyone who wishes to facilitate others needs an understanding of conventional psychological diagnosis. This course does not provide training to be a psychologist but we become familiar with indications that Voice Dialogue may not be appropriate in order to recognize people who should be referred to a therapist. Therapists who participate in this training will learn that Voice Dialogue is a powerful and experiential modality that is compatible with many theoretical orientations. This way of working with clients will enable the therapist to facilitate early diagnosis, quickly identify underlying psychodynamic issues, minimize transference and dependency, work with resistance without a power struggle, and enhance and accelerate insight, self acceptance, and behavior change.
